On December 12, 2018, the Flower Power Cultural Association participated in the annual information event of POCA, with a presentation of the project "Alternative Culture”. The event took place at the Minerva Hotel in Bucharest and had the theme "Involvement of NGOs and social partners in formulating and promoting alternative proposals to public policies initiated by the Government".

 

The event was attended by representatives of the European Commission, representatives of Central and local public administration, NGOs, social partners, accredited higher education institutions, beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries of POCA, as well as representatives of the AM POCA. They were presented at the meeting, the most important projects conducted by NGOs in the field of formulating public policies, including the alternative culture project, followed by the presentation of models of good practice. However, the problems encountered in the implementation of projects have also been raised in order to improve communication and the exchange of experience between participants in adopting the best solutions to completing results of projects selected for financing under POCA 2014-2020.

 

In December, the Alternative Culture project continues the study of the legislative mix that regulates cultural and artistic activities and prepares the organization of the working camp and training program scheduled for January. At the end of January, therefore, the long-awaited "Alternative Culture" camp will take place, where 20 participants from the target group of the project - cultural managers, artists, representatives of NGOs - will receive training the field of development, implementation and monitoring of public policies in the cultural sector will be able to communicate directly and work together with the implementation team to create the main lines on which the alternative public policy dedicated to defining an artist's status in Romania

 

The training will be sustained by Aura Corbeanu and Andreea Grecu, experienced cultural managers and trainers, who joined the project team "Alternative Culture" and prepared the handbook on the basis of which the traineeship will be conducted, the supporting materials and some examples of good practice.

"Within the framework of the training within the project "Alternative Culture " we will work for 4 days to develop skills for legislative proposals in the cultural field, following through the completion of all the steps required by this extremely important legislative process, to clarify the correct and concrete way of working in this area. Together with the 20 learners we will try to formulate these alternative proposals for public policy, respecting the 2 modules included in the programme, respectively-equal opportunities and sustainable development-from the perspective of the cultural sector ”, Aura Corbeanu has declared about the work to be done at the work camp.

 

The Working group to be formed within the camp will analyse and continue to work on the proposals made during the project's stages so far, after the end of the work-shop, through the virtual network "Alternative Culture", specifically intended for this purpose. Participants at the work-shop and also all those interested in discussions and proposals on the "Alternative Culture" project theme can join this network through social networking accounts most commonly used or directly from the website https://statutulartistului.ro The virtual network will allow direct and continuous communication and analysis, choice and development of proposals that will be the basis of the public policy proposal of the "Alternative Culture" project.

 

The year 2019 will therefore begin with an important step in the project "Alternative Culture", the creation of a working group that will analyse, edit and sign the proposals that will be included in the public policy version dedicated to defining a status of the artist in Romania.
