Press release February 2019 - Alternative Culture
Operational Programme Administrative Capacity 2014-2020 Priority Axis 1: Effective Public Administration and Judiciary System Specific Objective 1.1: Developing and Introducing Common Systems and Standards in Public Administration that optimize decision-making processes to become friendly to the citizens and business environment, in Accordance with SCAP (Strategy for the Consolidation of the Public Administration). ALTERNATIVE CULTURE, Contract no. 84 / 29.03.2018, SIPOCA Code 345, MySMIS Code 110829. The "Alternative Culture" project proposes, in March, the first ten working meetings to develop the alternative public policy, the main outcome of the project. "The Govora working camp brought together professionals involved in several areas of cultural life, wearing more hats: cultural entrepreneurs, creators, facilitators of communication, trainers. It is important not to forget the common exercise: it has reviewed what is essential for a public policy proposal, namely the involvement of those interested and affected at the same time by the decisions of the authorities in the field of cultural policy. It was impressive the wave of interest stirred by theoretical discussions and practical cases. Involvement is the key to a future consultation, part of the Alternative Culture project. At the engagement, we were all members of the project team. It is gratifying that thirty years of hesitation have not killed hope and desire to fight. There is still a future in Romania for the cultural field. I found with surprise and pride. Bravo, creators! ", said Andreea Raluca Grecu Ciupală, on the return from the intensive work camp "Alternative Culture". In March, the public policy process will continue through working meetings in order to find and discuss other proposals to improve the status of the artist and cultural legislation, to hold talks with representatives of the management bodies copyright, public institutions, professional unions and other representative cultural NGOs. The "Alternative Culture" continues in February and March the series of on-line webinars, disseminated through the socialization page of the "Alternative Culture" project. The webinars bring to the audience experts from various fields and speeches that support the repositioning of the artist's status in Romania, according to the importance and role of the artist in society, the models adopted by other European countries and the recommendations of UNESCO and the European Commission. Următorul webinar – “Tehnică și elemente de advocacy în politica publică” – o are ca invitată pe doamna Aura Corbeanu – manager cultural și Vicepreședinte Executiv al UNITER. Partea I a webinarului va fi difuzată miercuri, 13 februarie, începând cu ora 19:00, pe paginile: The "Alternative Culture" aims to strengthen the capacity of NGOs and relevant cultural actors to initiate, promote, implement and monitor public policies tailored to the current cultural context in Romania with a view to improving and synchronising it with the European and international cultural environment. The workshops follow the intensive work camp held in Govora on January 24-27, where European best practice models and the public policy development and policymaking process were studied. The workshop was coordinated by the co-opted trainers in the project team, Aura Corbeanu and Andreea Grecu Ciupală, and brought together twenty representatives of NGOs active in the cultural field who participated in the public policy training course. Govora launched a Public Policies Handbook, which contains the most important data on the Romanian cultural landscape and the current legislation in the cultural field and is also a guide for public policy making.
